The Last Supper: Where's Judas?
In Fr. Jay Toborowsky's post,
Spy Wednesday, he mentions artistic depictions of Judas at the Last Supper, and that reminded me of something I've done for as long as I can remember when looking at Last Supper images.
Before I can take in the piece as a whole, I Must Find Judas. I can't enjoy it until I do. It's like I'm compelled to play a version of
Where's Waldo? every time I see the Last Supper.
I quickly scan through all the apostles, holding my breath until I find him.
Who's missing a halo?
Or sporting a just-sucked-on-lemons countenance?
Or sitting apart from the others?
Or clutching a money-bag?
Then ... a-HA!
There he is! OK, now I can take it easy and look at the rest of the piece.
So, um ... anyone else do this, or is it just me?

Josephy card overload! And a new journal.
ZOMG! I just found a spin-off blog of
Holy Card Heaven that's entirely devoted to ...

Saint Joseph Album! Granted, the
decrepit ol' Joe ones set my teeth on edge, but there are plenty of others to swoon over, and I am mighty swoonified right now.
Interesting how I came across it mere minutes after pondering how I'll decorate the cover of my next spiritual journal: I'm on The Very Last Page (filled up pages faster'n usual due to
my daily Lenten scribblings) and will have to start a new one tomorrow or Friday. On the cover (it's just a cheap, spiral-bound, quad-ruled dealio), I've taped a gigantor card with a prayer to St. Francis of Assisi, along with another card of
Francis' prayer before the San Damiano crucifix.
For the next notebook, I was thinking I'd maybe slap on some Josephite ones, but didn't wanna sacrifice any of my current cards ... and then I found the Josephy site. Now I can print, cut out, and tape ones
from there to my heart's content! Well, my heart's content as squooshed into an 8.5-by-11-inch area.
This one of Joseph and Jesus, and
this Holy Family one (on the main
Holy Card Heaven blog), are Way Top Contenders.
Happy sigh.

Josephy statue squeeness!
So, I'm finally getting around to watching the video at
Visit The Pope, and totally squeed when I saw this Josephy statue in the Pope's private chapel, where he celebrates morning Mass!! Ya rarely see ones of Joseph
sittin' with lil' bebbeh Jesus in his lap.
::swoon::

Anyone know where can I find this artwork?
Husband Mike and I saw this painting (click for larger) hanging in a retreat center and we would
love to buy a copy. But, after tons o' lots o' searching, I've found nothing. Zip. Nada. Zilch.
NOTE: The white circle in the left is from glare; it's not part of the art. Also, this picture is not as wide as the actual piece; this is cropped a bit.
While recently browsing through a Catholic bookstore, we did find a way smaller cropped version with a price sticker on the back that simply said, "Jesus Overlooking Jerusalem", but nothing more.
So, I'm desperate and am tossing this out into the Interwebs in the hopes that someone,
somewhere can point us in the right direction. If you can tell me anything at all about this piece and where I can buy a copy, I'd be eternally grateful!
Update: Just after posting this, pals pointed me in the direction of several sources. The title is, "Christ on Mount Olive", and the artist is listed as "Giovanni".

CFotD: Icon of Joseph's family
Cool Find of the Day: It's not uncommon to see
icons depicting Mary with her parents (traditionally named Joachim and Anne), and there are plenty of beautiful ones out there. But I've never seen one of Joseph with
his parents ... until now.
I was absolutely floored and immensely delighted when I found this icon, "
Family of Saint Joseph".
Beautiful!
I've never ordered anything from outside the US, but I'm seriously considering getting it, along with one of
Mary's family and the
Holy Family itself. I rather like the idea of having the families of Joseph, Mary, and Jesus (the Holy Family), and I also like that it'd result in having three groups of three -- very Trinitarian!
I also adore these two depictions of Joseph

here. And there are also some nice ones of
Saints Francis and Clare ... :-)

CFotD: Painting of Mary's Coronation
Cool Find of the Day: I did backflips when I unexpectedly stumbled 'pon
this wonderful painting of Mary's Coronation, as it has Joseph watching! That's always how I picture this particular mystery of the Rosary, and it's one of my faves. Imagine how thrilled Joseph was to watch Mary's Coronation as Queen of Heaven and Earth. His heart must've felt like bursting!
My other favorite mystery is the one just prior to the Coronation, Mary's Assumption. I see that as a big ole family reunion, not just with her and Jesus, but her, Jesus, and Joseph. The Holy Family reunited! Can you imagine the joy those Holy Spouses must've felt to be together again?
